Hobi Lama Buat Jadi Baru

Memang kalau main 'game' jadi hobi dari dulu. Dari dulu lagi sebelum PewDiePie jadi terkenal dengan video rakaman beliau, sudah terniat mahu rakam, sejak dari zaman sekolah menegah lagi. Cuma sekarang sudah ada kelapangan untuk buat video sendiri. 

Banyak lagi akan menyusul. Buat untuk suka-suka

Apa!? Korang semua terkejut?

Jadi, dalam beberapa hari yang lepas aku dapat lihat pelbagai reaksi dari pelbagai lapisan generasi kawan-kawan aku dan dia terhadap post aku di Instagram. Kelakar, lawak, terhibur dan semua yang sama makna denganya aku dapat rasa.

Post yang mana? Yang ni


Reaksi mereka pelbagai. Paling banyak aku dapat ialah ucapan tahniah. Oh terima kasih atas ucapan tahniah kalian semua. Pada 12 jam pertama gambar itu di Instagram, dia mengadu semua kawan-kawan kami Whatsapp dia secara peribadi. Yang hairan dan peliknya, tiada seorang pun yang Whatsapp aku untuk tanyakan hal gambar ini. Pada keesokkan harinya, barulah ada beberapa insan yang 'ingin tahu tinggi' tanyakan aku pasal gambar tersebut. Aku puji tndakan mereka.

Itu kelakar.

Apa kalian terkejut dengan apa yang aku mampu? Ingat Arif Haikal tak 'market'? Apa kurang percaya Arif Haikal tidak mampu bertanggung jawab beri komitmen? Terkejut? Kurang percaya yang mana ada mungkin gadis boleh jatuh hati dengan Arif Haikal?

Bagi yang malas sangat untuk membaca, mereka tidak akan tahu bahawa gambar itu hanyalah rekaan semata-mata. Kami masih berkawan seperti biasa tiada apa yang lebih dan tiada apa yang kurang. Mohon sedar itu. Ini satu pencerahan. Tapi kenapa? Itu ada satu cerita lain di sebalik gambar itu yang aku rasa tidak penting untuk diceritakan.

Jadi selepas ini, kalau ada mana-mana yang tidak buat pembacaan disini dan masih menanyakan perihal 'hubungan' kami atau mengenai gambar tersebut, dengan mudah aku akan jawab

" Do you have a bae? Or nah? "

Reason For Helping

Almost 3 week in Terengganu for convocation celebration. Still, I cannot secure myself to any supervisor for my planning in postgraduate study in UMT. People that used to be I know during my undergraduate study in UMT showed various of reaction toward me staying here. Shocked because I will not continue study here. Happy because we have not meet for a certain period of time. Puzzled because why I still here in UMT. You name it, I feel it.

I guess its time to say goodbye to Terengganu and move on to my next step and level of life. Move one to new places, gaining new knowledge, face new challenge and obtain new experience



So, during my stay here. I was helping one of my incredible friend for her master sampling in Setiu Wetland. I volunteered myself to help 2 days sampling with her. It was fun actually and also got a little trouble when you need to face some people's attitude while sampling. Although I am not sampling for my master study yet because I don't have any, at least I already gained some knowledge and experience for postgraduate study. It was totally different chapter of everything as compare to undergraduate Final Year Project. There are no reasons why I help her sampling. Just do it. Why not I'm doing something benefit rather than doing nothing while I am here in Terengganu? Yeah some people question why I stay here too long. I can't answer it because I does not have any academical reason to explain.

2 days of sampling done and I went my friend's home to rest. Then, my friend question me

" Aahh kau duduk sibuk tolong sampling master orang, kenapa? Bukannya sampling master kau pun "

To what I replied

" Alah nanti kalau aku sampling master aku nanti, mana tahu Allah pula tolong aku, aah gitteeww "

The Effects of Organic and Inorganic Chemical Treatments OnThe Crown-Of-Thorns Starfish (Acanthaster planci)


INTRODUCTION

The Acanthaster planci (commonly known as Crown-Of-Thorns Starfish or COTS) is one of the major cause of coral reef degradation (De’ath et al. 2012). The COTS feed on coral tissue and cause extensive coral mortality especially during the population outbreak. Manual collection and land buried is a widely used and effective method to reduce the number of COTS during an outbreak. However, chemical injection is an alternative method to effectively induced mortality in the COTS. Many type of inorganic chemicals (such as hydrochloric acid and formalin) has been used for the injection. However, the usage of organic chemical in the injection is less explore (Rivera-Posada and Owen, 2014). Environmental friendly organic chemical, if at the correct dosage, could be an effective option to replace inorganic chemical for the injections (Boström-Einarsson and Rivera-Posada, 2015). The objective of this study is to examine the physiological response and mortality rate of COTS toward organic and inorganic chemicals.

METHODOLOGY

To conduct the experiment, four 96L plastic cage with messed wired door were built then deployed on the INOS platform (depth= 12m) in front of UMT Bidong Island Research Station (5°37'17.28"N, 103°3'24.40"E) (Figure 2). Each cage was served as a chemical treatment for the study. Twenty adult Crowns-of-Thorns starfish (more than 20 cm in diameter) were collected from surrounding reefs and placed evenly in the cage. Total of five COTS per cage. Experiment started after 3-days of incubation. To test the effects of difference chemicals, COTs in the cage were injected each with 400g/L sodium chloride (NaCl), 15% Hydrochloric acid (HCl) and citric acid extracted from lime. No injection was performed on the control treatment. To examine the physiological response of COTS, observation was carried out using SCUBA every two hours for the first 24 hours of post injection period. After that, observation interval was increased to every four hours. The experiment was terminated after 120 hours of the injection.

RESULT AND DISCUSSION

The mortality rate of COTS varied with different chemicals. All COTS that injected with HCl were found dead with in the first 24 hours of post-injection. In contrast, only 40% of COTS injected with citric acid died within first 24 hours. The lethal effect of NaCl on COTS was slower, where mortality occurred after 48 hours of post injection (Figure 3). No mortality was observed on control treatment throughout the five days of experiment. The physiological responses observed in the study were blister, lesion, necrosis or expose of organ, matting and loss of spines, loss of turgor and swelling, mucus production and hyperactivity (Figure 4.) Blister, lesion, necrosis or expose of organ were most likely and common to observe in the study from 48 hours to 120 hours of the experiment. Citric acid may served as an ideal organic chemical to control COTS number during the outbreak. All physiological response was observed in citric acid treatment except hyperactivity. It gave osmotic shock toward COTS body (Rivera-Posada and Owen,2014) and also slower the regeneration of body part (Pechenik, 2010). More over, citric acid was extracted from lime therefore the cost to prepare this chemical is low compare to the inorganic chemicals, and would not cause adverse impact to the marine environment.
